Is Middle French Immersion being phased out?
Short answer
OCDSB’s January 19, 2026 update extends the final Grade 4 intake for Middle French Immersion to September 2028. It says the program will remain in schools that currently offer it during the phase-out, provided viable cohorts can be maintained.
As of · Updated
The same update says Early French Immersion entry is available in Grades 1, 2 or 3 beginning in September 2026.
Keep in mind. Check for later board decisions before relying on an entry year.
